Results from the SkillsUSA AZ State Championship Engineering Design Competition were released this week. The team consisting of first-year engineering program students Ella Barth, Sophia Mhae Jorda, and Jordan Ruble earned SILVER. Their design and prototype of a clinostat was built to support experiments by students in the Bioscience program. The team consisting of second-year engineering program students Knyceaulos Brown, Evan Centeno, and Jacob Ross earned GOLD. Their design was a wind tube prototype. Finally, the team consisting of third-year engineering student Dylan Benavente, Zachary Martinez, and Braden Smith earned BRONZE. Their design was a concept for a laser-based communications system.
