It has been customary, in Honors Biology at Vista Grande High School, for the students to have a lesson on plants and the propagation of plants. Lessons usually cover seeds, bulbs, rhizomes, and propagating by stems or leaves of an existing plant. This year, there wasn’t an opportunity due to COVID-19 and the fact that all lessons at both high schools must be in sync with each other. During November 2019, Valeria De La Cruz (Junior) propagated a Christmas Cactus. She has been able to keep it alive and has replanted it. In addition, it is blooming which is normal for this plant in November or December of each year! The Spartans are taught by Science Teacher Anna Hicks.
