Three teams competed in the SkillsUSA AZ State Championship Engineering Design Competition this past Saturday. The team consisting of first year engineering program students Ella Barth, Jordan Ruble, and Sophia Jorda presented their design and prototype of a clinostat, which they are building to support experiments by students in our Biotechnology program. The team consisting of second year engineering program students Evan Centeno, Knyceaulos Brown, and Jacob Ross presented their design of a wind tube prototype. Finally, the team consisting of third year engineering student Dylan Benavente, Zachary Martinez, and Braden Smith presented their concept for a laser-based communications system.
