Mia Mooring of Vista Grande High School was recognized as one of the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students of the Month, Tuesday April 6, at the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Governing Board meeting. Mia was nominated by her Marketing teacher Lisa Miller. Mia is a second-year Marketing student who is currently serving as the DECA Vice President of Promotion. She consistently goes above and beyond whenever needed. Her positive attitude, even in times of struggle, has influenced both her own classmates and the students who are soon to be Spartans. She attended the Virtual Officer Leadership Training (VOLT) Conference and competed in the, first-ever, State Career Development Conference in February. Mia contributed to the middle school recruitment efforts by appearing in the Marketing program’s recruitment video. She has remained determined to compete, provided hands-on assistance with the internships in the DECA Store, and served as a strong leader this year. Mia’s mother is Sara Mooring of Casa Grande. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in 15 different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For more information on the CTE program, visit www.cguhsd.org/CTE.aspx.
