JROTC Color Guard

Memorial Day commands reverence like few other military events. On Sunday, May 31, at Mountain View Cemetery in Casa Grande, this occasion was no exception. Veterans from wars as far back as World War II observed the Color Guard of Vista Grande High’s Marine Corps JROTC, comprised of cadets (L to R) 2nd Lieutenant Frazier, Private First Class Negrete, 2nd Lieutenant Swift, and Private First Class Foerster. They performed the routine flawlessly, even though events unfolded differently than rehearsed or planned. Cadets’ leadership traits of bearing, endurance, dependability, and initiative were exhibited before a patriotic crowd of over 100 guests. The Spartan JROTC is instructed by Dr. Tyrone Hall, CWO-3 (ret) and GySgt Jesus Flores. For more information on the JROTC Program, visit www.cguhsd.org/vgJROTC.aspx.
