Aaliyah Alvarez of Vista Grande High School was recognized Tuesday, February 2, as one of the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students of the Month during the district’s regular monthly school board meeting. Aaliyah was nominated by her Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher Mrs. Cassandra Yeo who stated, “Aaliyah is currently a junior at Vista Grande High School and is in her second year of Early Childhood. She is a dependable and hardworking student who always puts 100% in anything that she does. She extends her generosity in the classroom as well as in the preschool. She is always willing to lend a hand to her classmates and the staff in the preschool. Aaliyah is currently serving as the Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America  (FCCLA) President. She has been upbeat and willing to make the program a success. She has brought experience from Cheerleading and Student Council into the program and has enriched the program because of these experiences.” Aaliyah’s parents are Danny and Priscilla Hernandez of Casa Grande. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in the fifteen Career & Technical Education programs offered in the Casa Grande Union High School District.
