Lillian Hernandez of Casa Grande Union High School was recognized Tuesday, December 1, as one of the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students of the Month during the district’s regular monthly school board meeting. Lillian was nominated by her Biosciences teacher Mr. Noel Que who stated, “Lillian is in her 4th year of the Bioscience STEM program. She responds well to the call of helping others, especially during lab classes and other activities. She frequently volunteers and participates in many AzHOSA events and competitions. When competing in either State or International competitions, she always brings home awards that benefit the program and school. She is the President of the CGUHS AzHOSA Chapter and an officer of the STEM Advisory Council. She has excellent and respectful interactions with her peers by listening to their opinions and ideas during class discussions or organization meetings. Lily is an outstanding Bioscience student and works well whether inside the lab, in AzHOSA activities, or with the STEM Advisory Council. Lillian’s parents are Ben and Cheryl Hernandez of Casa Grande. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in the fifteen Career & Technical Education programs offered in the Casa Grande Union High School District.
