VGHS Mathletes attended a http://mathleague.org qualifying competition at Sahaurita High School on Friday, January 17. Victor Wittner and Mark Cruz placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the freshman grade level, and junior Tanay Evans qualified for the state competition. The team is to be congratulated for their hard work, determination, and perseverance. Team members in attendance were Aileen Canedo, Mark Cruz, Kathy Dang, Alyssa Dela Roca, Tanay Evans, Andres Garcia, Adrian Martinez, Ricardo Ornelas, Anthony Velazquez, and Viktor Wittner. The Spartans are advised by Mathematics Teacher Jeanna Vasquez-Garza.
