On Monday, January 20, members of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) worked on their Rocket X-1 and the launcher for four hours. Their goal is to design a multi-stage solid fuel rocket that will reach an altitude of 10,000 feet. As a part of this project, the students are working with CG Fire Marshall Michael Wobster to develop launch safety procedures. Also on their agenda is to approach the City of Casa Grande about creating Spaceport Casa Grande, a permanent rocket launch facility. For more information on SEDS, visit www.cguhsd.org/cgSEDS.aspx. The Cougars are advised by CTE & Mathematics Teacher John Morris.
