CTE Student of the Month
1

Lydia Brown of Casa Grande Union High School was recognized Tuesday, January 14, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month during the district’s regular monthly school board meeting. Lydia was nominated by her Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher, Mrs. Cathie White, and she is in her 3rd year of the ECE program where she is both an Intern and a Classroom Aide. She has played every role in the childcare program and does every job to the best of her ability. This year, she prepares morning snacks and the preschoolers have had a lot of fun eating her star-spangled fruit kebabs on Veteran’s Day as well as her teddy bear toast treats. She is creative and knows that kids learn best when they are active and having fun. Lydia has represented ECE at both Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State and Nationals, winning gold medals in both competitions. She is interested in becoming a teacher and plans to start her college experience at Central Arizona College (CAC) then transfer to a university to study elementary education. Lydia’s parents are Scott and Angela Brown. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in the thirteen Career and Technical Education programs offered in the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month a different program may nominate a student for this recognition program.
