Hiring microscope cleaning services costs $25-45 per unit. CGUHS Biotech II STEM students were taught, trained, and evaluated. They then applied their learning by initiating a project that turned into community service for the Science Department in cleaning microscope equipment. Cleaning equipment and solutions made by these students alleviated school expenses. Students developed their skills by removing grime and dust from the mechanical parts and applying reagents to clean optical parts of the microscopes making them more visibly clear as observed specimens on view.
