(VGHS) Sergio Aguilera, Angel Rios Velasquez, and Lana Johnson, and CGU student, Savannah Halbert, traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 2024 Key Club International Convention (ICON).
All three VG students led a workshop at ICON. Sergio, along with the current Southwest District Governor, Brandon Strange, presented a workshop on Event Planning 101. Lana and Angel led a training for Bulletin Editors and Webmasters. These students were required to submit workshop proposals to the Key Club ICON committee and complete interviews to be selected.
Vista Grande High School was also awarded 1st Place in the Gold Division for the Signature Project Award. This award is based on a service project that a club conducts at least annually for three or more years and makes a positive impact in their community. VG students, Summer Whitmer (recent graduate and immediate-past club president), Emily Kronberg (senior and current club president), and Angel Rios (junior and current District Bulletin Editor) submitted a proposal on the club's annual blood drives.
The VG Key Club is incredibly grateful for donations from the Kiwanis Club of Casa Grande and anonymous donors who helped fund this trip and made this possible for our student representatives.
