(VGHS) The Stepping Out From Behind the Counter Award was given to Mrs. Gloria Ruiz, Inpiring Excellence Coach, who recently began working in the ELD classroom. Although she doesn’t speak Spanish, she was easily able to bond with the students and assist them. She shows them respect by appreciating their language and culture. The students appreciate that she responds positively when they try to teach her their languages. She is firm about the rules while being kind and caring at the same time.
