(VGHS) Matthew Guy was recognized Tuesday, September 26, as the October Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Matthew was nominated by his CTE Construction Technologies Teacher, Mr. Jeff StClair. “Matthew is a model student. He maintains a high academic standing and has exemplary character. I have found Matthew to be a person of integrity. He displays a positive attitude, performing with a high level of drive and determination. Matthew’s self-confidence allows him to accept responsibility, be open-minded, and lead by example. With respect to Construction Technologies, Matthew exhibits effective leadership by taking initiative, having the ability to work without constant supervision, and solving problems independently. He works well with other students and interacts with team members. Lastly, Matthew is an example to other students. He is involved in the total school program by participating in sports, senior class activities, student organizations, and many other school functions across campus.” Matthew’s parents are Mr. Matthew Guy & Mrs. Kiamesha Guy of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
