Grand Canyon University Day
CG-CounselingGrandCanyonUniversityDay (6)
Twenty-eight Casa Grande Union High School juniors and seniors traveled to Grand Canyon University for GCU Day on Thursday, March 2. The Cougars took a tour of the campus and had an opportunity to visit key educational and sports facilities as well as campus dorms and apartments.

CGUHS students met with GCU students and counselors to discuss numerous majors, careers, and how preparation is the key to college and career success. Mrs. Delany Bachman, GCU Admissions Counselor, went into depth about finances and the expenses of being a college student, as well as preparation for receiving scholarships. GCU students shared their experiences of working on campus and going to school.

CGUHS students used their cell phones to gather information about college and careers, and participated in a competitive quiz with the winners receiving prizes. GCU provided a meal for each student while students spoke with GCU students on a one-on-one basis. The GCU students were extremely candid about their life and their experiences as college students. CGUHS students, collectively, expressed sincere gratitude for the rich information they received from the GCU admission counselor and students.

CGUHS students were so impressed that many of them signed up to receive more information about GCU and to spend a weekend on campus. The GCU staff and students were very impressed with the Cougars’ questions, composure, and maturity. It was a rewarding experience for all who attended GCU Day.
