State of Arizona Requirement:
MANDATORY IN-PERSON ASSESSMENTS
In compliance with State and Federal guidelines, all State assessments must be administered in person. These assessment requirements are outlined in State laws and Federal requirements.
Although the State Assessments were cancelled due to COVID conditions during the 2019- 20 school year, ADE will not be allowing testing exemptions for the 2020-21 school year. All students, defined as those who attend school at the building sites (Modified In-Person) and all students who are learning virtually (AOI -online learning) will be expected to participate in the State Assessments in person.
CGUHSD will administer the assessments in-person in compliance with the ADE safety protocols. The statewide assessments are designed to meet federal and state requirements to measure proficiency of the English Language Arts and Mathematics Standards. The purpose of these assessments is to measure student progress toward achievement of the grade level standards, and the results provide information to parents, teachers, and schools to understand student progress on grade-level material and to determine necessary curricular and instructional adjustment needs for the upcoming school year.
The State’s detailed testing calendar for SY 2020-21 and 2021-22 can be found at the following link: Assessments Overview - 2020 and Beyond_final.pdf (azed.gov)
AzM2 and AzSCI State testing will take place on each of the CGUHSD campuses from, April 5 – 23.
