Willow McLaughlin of Vista Grande High School (VGHS) was recognized Tuesday, September 27, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Willow was nominated by her CTE Stagecraft/Technical Theatre teacher, Mr. Doug Harding. “Willow has demonstrated leadership skills far above the expectations for a new second-year student. She has taken the lead on all projects and pursues them relentlessly until the job is done. Her attention to detail, along with her excellent communication skills (both with instructor and classmates), has made Willow an indispensable member of the Stagecraft program.” Willow’s parent is Loretta Lucas of Sells, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For past recipients, visit www.cguhsd.org/CTE.aspx.
