Maria Del Carmen Macias-Saucedo of Vista Grande High School (VGHS) was recognized Tuesday, May 3, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s VGHS Rotary Club of Casa Grande Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Maria was recognized for her accomplishments and activities: Student Council, National Honor Society (3-Yr), S.A.A.C., Link Crew, Track & Field (Most Improved Player Award), and Vista Grande Academic Achievement Award (4-Yr). She enjoys art, roller-skating, and swimming. After high school, Maria plans to attend Arizona State University (ASU). One of her life goals is to give back to her parents who started their family with barely anything. She believes they deserve more for their hard work and obstacles they went through from a very young age. Maria’s parents are Joaquin & Guillermina Macias.
