Ethan Patterson (VGHS) was named the $500 Grand Prize winner in the Casa Grande Alliance Art Contest that focused on Dr. Martin Luther King's dream of "Beloved Community" which is a global vision in which all people can share in the wealth of the earth. In the Beloved Community, poverty, hunger, and homelessness will not be tolerated because the international standards of human decency will not allow it. The piece is titled "To Learn To Love". Ethan is a 9th grader in Michelle Bottomley's Art I class. Runners-up, receiving $100 each, were Aubrey Burwell, Emma Henson, Jade Brown, and Elizabeth Ross. Visit the Art Department at
