Estrella Perez (CGUHS) was recognized Tuesday, February 7, as one of the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting.

Estrella was nominated by her CTE Early Childhood Education teacher, Miss McKenzie Rains.

“Estrella is a shining example of a leader both in and out of school. She is currently enrolled as an advanced student in the Early Childhood Education program and holds the Vice President of Finance position with FCCLA. She is a dedicated individual who is consistently focused on developing best practices in the classroom and is always striving to reach her goals. Estrella is a natural leader and is willing to step up to any task when asked. She provides guidance to her peers and is a champion to all. She is seen as the “mother hen” of the team and can be found assisting another student with their work or motivating them to do their best. I cannot thank Estrella enough for the level of commitment she has granted the program throughout the course of the academic year. Her enthusiasm and passion for learning has allowed others to follow her lead and enter a leadership role for the following years to come. She is truly deserving of this recognition. It is a great honor to nominate her for the February CTE Student of the Month Award.”

Estella’s parents are Mr. & Mrs. Carlos Perez of Casa Grande, Arizona.

Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor.
