Justine Diaz, daughter of Fred Quintero and Jessica Diaz, was recognized Tuesday, February 7, as the February VGHS Rotary Student of the Month during the district's Governing Board meeting. Justine is an active member of the Vista Grande community and participates in numerous extracurricular activities. Since her freshman year, she has been a member of the Spartan Dance Company and is currently the Captain. Justine has also been in the Marching Band all four years and has been a Section Leader since her junior year. She was a Junior Officer and is the current President of the VG National Honor Society. Her other extracurricular involvement includes Link Crew, Cheer, Upward Bound, and Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Justine’s teachers describe her as having outstanding leadership skills as well as the drive and dedication to succeed in any environment. She has been accepted to the University of Arizona and received the Lumberjack Scholarship, a full-tuition waiver, to attend Northern Arizona University. Justine plans to study at the University of Arizona and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
