Hunter Scholes of Casa Grande Union High School (CGUHS) was recognized Tuesday, January 11, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s CGUHS Rotary Club of Casa Grande Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Hunter was recognized for his accomplishments and activities: AP/Honors Classes (6), Class Rank (1st), Football (1-Yr), GPA (4.686), Link Crew (1-Yr), National Honor Society (1-Yr), Student Council (4-Yr) (Class Representative & Treasurer), Swim Team (3-Yr) (Team Captain), Tennis (3-Yr) (Team Captain), Track (1-Yr), Wrestling (4-Yr) (Team Captain), Casa Grande Youth Commission (1-Yr), Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim (48-mile hike in under 20 hours), Lifeguard (1-Yr), Sahuaro Half-Marathon (4th Place), Special Olympics Volunteer (4-Yr), and Volunteer (6-Yr) (50+ Hours at various organizations). After high school, he plans to attend one of the three main military service academies (Air Force, Annapolis, or West Point), major in Biology, and go to medical school post-graduation.
