Clara Isabella Munguia of Casa Grande Union High School (CGUHS) was recognized Tuesday, December 7, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s CGUHS Rotary Club of Casa Grande Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Clara was recognized for her accomplishments and activities: Class Rank (#1), Academic Award (3-Yr), AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, Flinn Scholarship Semifinalist, Outstanding AP Spanish Literature & Culture Student, AP English Language & Composition Certificate of Achievement, AP United States History Certificate of Achievement, Student Delegate to Town Hall’s Future Voices Conference, Bilingual Multicultural Club (President, Vice President, & Bilingual Student News Article Recognition), Student Council (Senior Class Secretary & 4-Yr Member), Key Club (Treasurer & 3-Yr Member), National Honor Society (President & 2-Yr Member), Mu Alpha Theta (Vice President & 2-Yr Member), Girls Who Code (Vice President & 2-Yr Member), Link Crew (2-Yr Mentor), DECA (2-Yr), National Society of High School Scholars (1-Yr Member), Special Needs Art Student Mentor (1-Yr), Tennis (4-Yr Varsity, 2021/22 Captain, 2020/21 Season Rank #1, 2021 Singles State Championship Competitor, 2019/20 Season Rank #1-2, 2018/19 Season Rank #4, 1st Place 2019 Pinal County Regional Championship), St. Anthony’s Youth Group ARCO (1-Yr), Tutor (1-Yr), Babysitter (1-Yr), Volunteer, and Receptionist. After high school, she plans to attend a university and earn a degree in any of the following majors: International Relations & Affairs, Pre-Engineering, Legal Studies/Law, or Technology.
