Teacher Appreciation Week
Happy Teacher Appreciation week! Today during all 3 lunches there will be tables set up for students to write a note of thanks and sign a card for your teachers.  Please stop by one of the tables and express your thanks to teachers at CGUHS who have impacted your life in a positive way. Cards will be delivered to teachers on Friday. 


JROTC Students
Any former JROTC cadet that still has a uniform, must turn it in next week.  The Bookstore will carry a debt to the school until the uniform is turned in.  Graduation is at stake for any debt owed the school.  Get it turned in as soon as possible!!


Film Production
Are you interested in film production? Interested in Star Wars? Do you watch The Mandalorian? If so, then you will want to attend the Star Wars: The Mandalorian film club on Monday May 10th at 3:10 pm in B153 and meet Landis Fields, Virtual Production Visualization Supervisor for The Mandalorian now showing on Disney Plus. Get all your questions answered about film production, Star Wars, and the Mandalorian

Yesterday, game results:   Varsity Softball vs. Nogales High School, our Lady Cougars with the win 10-7!
 

SENIORS
Attention all seniors, senior t-shirts are in!  You can purchase your t-shirt for $20 and they are in Brad’s Office.  Thank you!

*Graduating Seniors, if you will be attending a college/university/technical school or the Armed Forces in the fall, please remember to fill out the final transcript request form as soon as possible if you have not already done so.  The link was sent to your school email address, you can also find it on the Counselor Website.
 
*Seniors, come out and watch the sunset tonight on the baseball field. It will be one of the last times we will all be together in a relaxing environment. Bring your own food, drinks, and blanket to sit on. Masks will be required. 
 
* Seniors- if you have received a scholarship, please stop by the Guidance Department, and meet with Mrs. Martinez.  She has your invitation and tickets for Scholarship Evening which will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 6:00 PM in the large gym.  You must sign out for the four tickets you will receive for your guests.  If you are not sure if you have received a scholarship, stop by and check with Mrs. Martinez.  The school did get notifications from colleges of students who are being awarded scholarships.

PROM/ Juniors & Seniors 
Prom ticket sales have been extended until Friday May 7th. If you still need to purchase your prom tickets, please see Brad in the bookstore. Tickets are $45. Prom is next Saturday, May 15th at 8pm in the gym and cafeteria. Come out and enjoy great music, dancing, a fun photobooth, food trucks, and a chance to ride a mechanical bull.

Dance Auditions
Are you interested in being a member of the CGUHS Elite Dance Company? Dance auditions are on May 19th at 6pm and May 20th at 7pm in the small gym. A parent or guardian needs to arrive with you on May 19th. Please wear dance clothes and arrive in performance hair and make-up. You will learn a dance routine on the 19th and perform it for a panel of judges on the 20th. Prior dance experience is preferred but not required. Come see Mrs. Quintana in the Dance room A150 for further information. Good luck!
 

Superintendent’s Challenge 2020-21:
 
Cougars, did you take Dr. Bebee up on his challenge and participate in the Superintendent’s Challenge this school year.  If you did, your documentation of your community service hours signed by your school sponsor must be turned in to Mary Rosenbam at the CGUHSD district office by the following dates:
 
 
CGUHS Underclassmen:  The deadline to turn your hours in to receive your certificate and letter by the end of the school year is Friday, May 7th
You can turn your documented hours in at the district office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or email them to Mary Rosenbam at [email protected]
