Superintendent Letter

February 26, 2021

Dear CGUHSD Parents, Guardians, Faculty and Staff:

As a district we have been using the ADHS benchmarks to help guide our decisions on when it was safe to reopen our schools again this spring for modified in-person learning. Yesterday, in a special Governing Board meeting, our board voted to officially bring students back in our Modified In-Person model on Monday, March 8, 2021, as long as the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) benchmarks for Pinal County stay the same or improve next week. I want you to know that we will be ready to welcome back all students and staff to our campuses on that date.

Those students who have chosen to learn in the Modified In-Person model will begin their A/B rotation days, on campus learning part-time and virtual learning from home part-time, on March 8, 2021. Those students who chose to learn online only will continue in the same model they have been since the beginning of the semester.

As we return to in-person learning this March, I need to remind our parents and guardians that it is critical that you complete the parent survey that was sent out, so we know what your intentions are for registering your students next year and providing your insight on which of the two learning environments that you feel most comfortable with when we begin the 2021-22 school year. If you have not yet taken the survey, the link has been included below. While we understand that the uncertainty of the times we are in, we thank you for your patience and for your support of Casa Grande Union High School District as we work together to bring our staff and students safely back to our campuses.

I hope the beginning of the spring semester has been good for all of you and I personally look forward to seeing all the students and staff back in our schools again on March 8th.

Sincerely,
Steve Bebee, Superintendent
