Vista Grande High School Marine Corps JROTC Cadets, 2nd Lieutenant Erin Swift (Pictured Left) and Lance Corporal Armando Negrete (Pictured Right), attended the Nationals Drill Camp, July 11-17, at Shreiner University in Kerrville, TX, near San Antonio. Good grades, excellent behavior, and dedication toward improving the JROTC program were prerequisites to attend this enriching travel opportunity. Both cadets were excited about the chance to participate in this immersive learning experience. The challenging, yet rewarding, activity-packed camp engaged cadets in all facets of military-style drill. The cadets noted substantial improvements in their drilling abilities which included greater confidence at small unit leadership.
