The CGUHS 2nd STEM General Assembly was held Friday, August 20. Nominees for various officer positions gave their heartfelt speeches of why they would be a good fit to be a STEM Advisory Council officer. The audience was composed of STEM program students who carefully listened to the nominees before they cast their votes online. This event also provided an opportunity for the Upward Bound program, headed by Miss Veronica Miele and Miss April Ortega, both from Central Arizona College (CAC). They presented information on this federally funded program that serves underrepresented, first-generation students who plan on obtaining a postsecondary degree. The goal is for the STEM students to fill the 20 spots that are available to achieve their goal of a college career. The Cougars are advised by CTE/Science Teacher Noel Que.
