(VGHS) Five VGHS artists (Jenella Darrell, Addyson Francis, Amber Knab, Isaac M. Lopez, and Piper O'Sullivan) competed in the annual Congressional Art Competition through Rep. Juan Ciscomani's office in Tucson. Amber Knab received the Southwest Best Award for her painting "Saguaro Spring". The 1st Place award for our congressional district went to Ellen Kim of Catalina Foothills High School. She will compete for the top state prize. The Congressional Art Competition is an annual event in each congressional district. The top statewide winner has their work displayed in Washington, D.C. and receives airfare to D.C. to enjoy their achievement. The Spartans are instructed by Michelle Bottomley, Fine Arts Teacher.
