(CGUHS) It was day of learning from the pros when Dallas Giddens from Giddens Tire Pros visited Mr. Christian Stewart's Automotive Technologies class. Dallas has been in the automotive business for 34 years and shared valuable insights about careers in the industry, especially as demand for skilled technicians is on the rise, with 5 million positions needed across the country. Dallas spoke to the students about the qualities he's looking for when hiring: dependability, legible handwriting, showing up on time, strong communication skills, and honesty. He emphasized that technicians can start off earning $30/hour, with potential to make six figures, all without a college degree. As a local business owner serving five generations of Casa Grande families, Dallas believes in treating customers like family and investing in the community. He offers his employees insurance, paid holidays, and rewarding work experiences. Dallas’ advice? Always ask questions, be honest, and research the company you’re applying to. The automotive industry is filled with opportunities. Integrity and perseverance will take you far.
