Outstanding Council of Distinction Award

CG-StudentCouncilOfficers20210201 (1)

Casa Grande Union High School Student Council was awarded the Outstanding Council of Distinction award at the 2021 Arizona Association of Student Councils State Conference. The virtual event was held on Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27. To earn this distinction, members of Student Council put together a virtual scrapbook highlighting their activities, service projects,  leadership lessons, and meeting reports. These items had to meet rigorous standards and be signed off on by School Principal Brian Mabb, Student Council Advisor Stacy Brady, and Student Body President Ally Wong. At the state conference, students listened to motivational speakers about leadership, empowerment, overcoming obstacles, and achieving their goals. They also participated in small breakout virtual rooms to share ideas and discuss school leadership in these nontraditional school settings we have now due to COVID-19. It was an inspiring conference. The participants were grateful for the opportunity to attend and participate. Visit the Student Council’s webpage at www.cguhsd.org/cgStudentCouncil.aspx.
