On Friday, January 10, VGHS DECA competed in the Arizona DECA District 3 Competition at Pima Community College bringing home several medals. Competitors included Katie Argonmaniz, Mattie Bradford, Christian Campos, Jose Grenados, Alayna Kelsey, Aniqa Khan, Boston Leos, BrittanyAnn Marrufo, Justyce Martinez, Marco Medina, Mia Mooring, and Gerardo Ramos. Arizona DECA Vice President, VGHS’s very own Mattie Bradford, was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. She really showed off her presentation skills both on stage and during competition. Her friendly manner helped new competitors feel confident and she welcomed everyone warmly. During the competition, VGHS DECA Advisor Lisa Miller was elected to sit on the Arizona DECA Advisory Council as the representative for District 3. This gives VGHS and all schools in District 3 a voice in all-state organization policy considerations for the next two years. All the competitors valued the experience and are looking forward to their next competition coming up in February.
