Valeria Ruiz of Casa Grande Union High School was recognized as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career and Technical (CTE) Student of the Month, Tuesday, April 14, at the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Governing Board Meeting. Valeria was nominated by her Marketing Teacher David Carter who stated, “Valeria is a in her third year of the Marketing/DECA Program at CGUHS and is a senior in the Marketing Internship class. Valeria is a DECA Store Supervisor and manages the store in all aspects. She is very consistent in pre-opening preparations, training and supervising employees, financial procedures, and daily closing duties. She has a great work ethic and will be very successful in any career she pursues. She is very active in DECA, having attended many conferences on state and international levels.” Valeria’s parents are Jesus and Demecia Ruiz of Casa Grande. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in 15 different Career and Technical Education Programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor.
