This course is designed for the students not recommended for the regular math program. Consumer Math reinforces general math topics (such as arithmetic using rational numbers, measurement, ratio and proportion, and basic statistics). Students will learn to apply these skills to consumer problems and situations. Topics may include, but will not be limited to, budgeting, taxation, credit, banking services, insurance, buying and selling products and services, home and/or car ownership and rental, managing personal income, and investment. Services will be indicated through the objectives on the IEP.
