Gifford, Cory

Welcome

My name is Cory Gifford, I teach Biology at CG Union. I am currently mentoring the AOI (online) learning platform for all science classes at CG Union. I graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. While I was in school, I had the opportunity to travel to a couple of different Universities to present a research project another student and I conducted during our undergraduate years. We were also given a grant to fly to Ithaca, New York to present the project. I also had the opportunity to do a practicum with a Clinical Psychologist. During the practicum, I learned a lot of about helping people who are struggling with life. I was also given the opportunity to participate and lead a mindful meditation group to help professors and students relieve stress. After graduation, I began working in the field of business management. I spent twelve years building and leading teams towards success. I have always had a passion for teaching and for leading. When I was presented with the opportunity to teach, I immediately jumped in. I love science, but I love teaching science even more! It is such an amazing subject that will teach your children how to think critically and solve real world problems. I look forward to working with you and your students. Go Cougars!
