Course Description

READ 180 is a program designed to improve reading skills. The class may meet for a block (two hour) period. The class incorporates comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and fluency practice. Students will use computer software daily to practice skills at their individual levels, participate in whole and small group instruction, and read independently. The goal is to intervene and remediate existing reading deficits and prepare students for successful completion of secondary-level academic work. This course is specifically designed for students reading three to five years below grade level.
