(VGHS) Reese Douglas Rayl was recognized Tuesday, November 7, as the November Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Reese was nominated by Mr. Ramon Estrada Vega, CTE Automation & Robotics Teacher. “Reese Douglas Rayl provides a lot of STEM and robotics knowledge to Vista Grande High School. Reese has acquired knowledge and understanding from the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) program located at Eloy. Indeed, he has expanded his knowledge by learning how to use and program different robotics software used in the classroom along with SolidWorks software. He has a positive attitude towards learning new things and applying skills learned. Moreover, he is always willing to help the students learn as new technology and innovation are introduced in the classroom. Reese follows directions as instruction takes place in the classroom. He works hard on his projects, incorporating the new technology learned in his robotics class. Reese is gifted and very efficient at building robots. His background in STEM education and previous experience has granted him the opportunity to become a leader in the classroom. Reese completes assignments and robotics activities on time and with quality. He has developed excellent teamwork and collaboration skills that are necessary for the workforce industry requirements. Reese is a team player who is always willing to help others by assisting them with technical support to ensure his teammates can succeed in their learning. His dedication to technology and innovation has granted Reese a well-deserved 3rd Place medal at SkillsUSA last year. Due to Reese’s dedication, hard work, and determination to learn new knowledge and practice new technology in automation and robotics, he has earned the Student of the Month Award.” Reese’s Parents are Mr. Robert Rayl of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Ms. Morgan Rayl of  Arizona City, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
