(CGUHS) Ms. Patun-og’s Biology class conducted an egg lab experiment to prove that the selective permeable membrane of an egg demonstrates the process of diffusion and osmosis. In the selectively permeable membrane of an egg, the theory of the process of osmosis and diffusion is proven if the egg is placed in a solution with higher concentration of sucrose (sugar) rather than a lower concentration, the egg will decrease in weight. The students observed and recorded data of the weight of the egg from day 1 to day 2 and the volume of distilled water, vegetable oil, and corn syrup. After soaking eggs in vinegar for more than 24 hours, three (3) eggs were placed separately in a 250 ml of each liquid: Beaker 1 (egg with distilled water), Beaker 2 (egg with oil), and Beaker 3 (egg with corn syrup).
