Rotary Student of the Month

Ernie Razo, son of Magdalena & Ernesto Razo, was recognized by Principal Brian Mabb on Tuesday, September 1, as September’s CGUHS Rotary Student of the Month. As a senior, he has accumulated a list of activities and accomplishments. Activities include: AP & Honors Student (Academic Letter), SciTech Presenter (2-Yr), Pride of Casa Grande Marching Band Member (4-Yr), Indoor Percussion Ensemble Member (2-Yr), Drum Major (1-Yr), Elite Dance Company Member (3-Yr), Elite Dance Company Captain (1-Yr), National Honor Society Member, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Participant (2018), Mu Alpha Beta Honors Society Officer, Student Council Officer (2-Yr), and CAC Upward Bound Member (3-Yr). Personal accomplishments include traveling to New York City; being on the Today Show; participating in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade; receiving seven (7) Mindsets Scholarship to Atlanta, Georgia. for the Ultimate Life Leadership Summit; producing music; practicing the piano & other instruments; songwriting & arranging music; designing digital art; being proud to be a part of his family’s & friends’ life; experimenting in the kitchen; and practicing self-care & a healthy mentality. In the future, he would like to continue to be an advocate and voice for his community with anything he does. Although he is not set on a specific major, he is interested in pursuing music/performing, philosophy, psychology, political sciences, and social justice. His dreams include living in New York City, performing at the Grammy’s/VMA’s, writing a screenplay for a film, recording multiple records in a studio, becoming an important societal figure by using his voice to inspire and encourage others, and getting to travel the world with his family and friends. Ernie stated, “I would also like to take a special moment to thank my Nana Maque for everything she has helped me with. She has helped inspire and shape me into the student and person I am now. I love and miss her very much.”
