Aileen Canedo, daughter of Carlos and Nadia Canedo, was recognized on Tuesday, October 6, at the CGUHSD Governing Board Meeting as the VGHS October Rotary Student of the Month. Aileen’s school activities include Student Council (member, previous Secretary & Vice President, and is running for Student Body President), Key Club, National Honors Society, Math Club, and Tennis (2019/20). She has helped coordinate school dances, pep assemblies, Spartan Fest, and football games, and received the Vista Grande Academic Achievement Award for three years. In her spare time, she enjoys creating digital art, baking, reading, and writing. After high school, Aileen plans to attend Arizona State University (ASU). Her main goal is to travel the world and help volunteer in small communities learning new cultures and languages while leaving an impact in the community.
