Casa Grande Union High School District (CGUHSD) hosted its first ever Workforce Development Luncheon on Wednesday, October 30. At the luncheon, the district leadership team and student ambassadors from the Career and Technical Education programs had the opportunity to discuss workforce development with elected officials, district governing board members, and members of the business community of Casa Grande. The purpose was to share the district’s vision for creating a greater workforce and to better understand from community business leaders what critical skills and abilities our students need to possess when they graduate from high school to be successfully employed in our community. The event was a huge success. We are thankful to all those in attendance who took the time to come eat lunch and share their expertise with us. Many attendees also signed up to be a part of our steering committee moving forward. We look forward to building strong partnerships with our business community and providing real-world opportunities for our students to create the workforce that our community needs and desires.
