Denim Day
Denim Day

ZONTA of Casa Grande Valley teamed with the Casa Grande Union High School District (CGUHSD) to raise funds and awareness about Denim Day. Denim Day began 20 years ago in Italy when a young woman was raped. Her perpetrator was found guilty and appealed. The judge ruled in favor of the rapist, and said it was because the young woman "had tight jeans on."  The women of Italy started a protest on April 24th and the cause has become an international day of protest. The protest is called Denim Day. This year, CGUHSD raised $276.98 in total. CGUHS raised $134.98, VGHS raised $112.00, and DWLC raised $30.00. Thank you to the Student Council at CGUHS for their help in this endeavor.
