Congratulations to the Pride of Casa Grande Marching Band.  Saturday they competed at the Mesquite Marching Invitation.  The came in 1st place and received awards for outstanding Visual, Guard, and percussion sections!

 

There will be an NHS meeting in the Olaski at 7:20 a.m. tomorrow morning for current NHS members.  Attendance is mandatory.

 

Baseball meeting tomorrow after school, please meet in the weight room!

 

Girls open tennis practice tomorrow at 3:15 pm.  Anyone is invited to come if they want to play tennis in the spring. Please bring water.

 

Hey everyone…support the CGUHS drumline.  Go to Barros Pizza on Wednesday 10/12, and tell them you are there to support the drumline.  A percentage of your purchase will be donated to the drumline.

 

Boys Basketball Open Gyms will be held right after school tomorrow October 11 and Thursday October 13.  If you are planning on trying out this season

you are strongly encouraged to attend.

 

 

 Juniors attending the CAC Palooza, please return your permission slips to Mrs. Merrill or Ms. Compos as soon as possible so we may get an accurate count for lunches and the bus.

 

 

 

Do you like to Bowl?  It is that time of year again.  We would like to have all students interested in the club to meet at the lanes today Oct 10th at 3:45pm.

We will bowl for 10 weeks running thru Jan 30th. Cost will be $5.00 per week.

Don’t forget the Lip Sync Battle is on Wednesday, October 12th @ 7 pm in the Auditorium!  $2 with your school ID & $3 without ID.

 

 

Students, CGUHS will host the 3rd Annual Student Success Night on October 13, 2016.  All students and their parents are invited to this event starting at 6:00 pm and ending at approximately 8.  Colleges, Military, Professions, and Business will be there to discuss future job, career, and/or schooling for students after high school. There will be prizes and refreshments.

 

Sophomores and Juniors – The PSAT will be given on November 2, 2016.  Cost to take the test is $ 15, payable at the bookstore.  This is the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and will give you an indication on how you will score on the SAT.  To sign up for the test, go to the bookstore and pay the required fee and you will receive a study guide for the test.  There are a limited number of tests so it is first come, first served.

 

Juniors and Seniors – take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on November 29.  This will be offered free to students who wish to see what career would be best for them.  To sign up for this test, go to the guidance office and enter the information on the form provided.

 

 

Winter Sports officially begins October 31st.  If you are interested in Boys & Girls Basketball, Wrestling or Boys & Girls Soccer please stop by Mrs. Soto’s office in Building B, Room 121 for a sports physical packet.  Thank you!
