Campus News and Events
Reminder: Tomorrow is a late start day. Classes will begin at 8:45.
Students must have a bus pass to get on the activity busses or they will not be permitted to board the bus. Staff and coaches please make sure your students have a pass to get on the bus.
All students must wear their ID when they are on campus, no exceptions.
No Gum is allowed on campus.
Students must clean up after themselves and throw their garbage away after lunch. Students remember we do have a dress code for campus.
Spirit Week: Back to school Spirit week is August 14th – 18th Remember dress code applies to all spirit days.
Tuesday - Too Hot Tuesday (school appropriate summer wear)
Wednesday - Workplace Wednesday (future career)
Thursday - 3rd Grade Thursday (throwback to elementary school)
Friday - School Spirit (Black and Gold)
Tutoring: Tutors are available before and after school in room 1206. Mornings (except Wednesday) from 7:30-8:00. After school (except Fridays) from 3:15-5:00.
Jostens will be here Aug 24 from 1030-1130 in the Auditorium for Seniors, and Aug 30 for the Juniors. Teachers please do with your students to the Auditorium.
Freshman Dance: Welcome to Vista Grande Dance for Freshmen in the Commons Aug 18 from 6-9pm. $3.00 to get in, ID needed. They will be selling snacks at their concessions
Freshmen Student Council: Any freshman interested in running for student council please pick up an application from Mr. Scheeler in room 1222 or Mrs. Scheeler in room 1216. Applications are due back by September 1st. Elections will be September 7th.
Class Shirts Class shirts are on sale now. Order yours at lunch during rush week or from a student council member. $15. See Mr. or Mrs. Scheeler for more details.
Sports
Athletes you must be completely cleared through the athletic office to participate in your sport by the middle of this week.
All football players must be cleared today to participate in our Football Scrimmage game on Aug 17 at home against Dobson @ 6pm. Go Spartans!
Mandatory Softball meeting in the Agora on Aug 17 at 330pm.
All girls interested in girls basketball meeting Thursday at 3:15 in the Agora. Come and meet the Coach!
Club Meetings
Key Club is having their first blood drive on Tuesday, August 22nd. Any student that is 16 and up can donate. Please sign up with Ms. Vasquez or Mrs. Ortega. Key Club first meeting is Aug 15 @ 730am.
The tentative first meeting date for art club is August 23rd. It will be from 3-4 p.m. in room 2017.
