Merlin D’souza of Casa Grande Union High School was recognized Tuesday, December 3, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career and Technical Education Student of the Month during the district’s regular monthly school board meeting. Merlin was nominated by her Biosciences teacher Mr. Noel Que who stated, “Merlin is a positive and encouraging person who sees the good in everything no matter what the situation. She is an encouraging person who always pushes her peers to do the best they can on the tasks at hand, be it academic or clubs. As an officer of the AzHOSA CGUHS Chapter, she shows commitment as she consistently advocates in every presentation and conference. She keeps herself busy completing academic requirements and applying critical thinking skills in every lab. She always has an excellent attitude that her peers admire.” Merlin’s parents are Moses and Teodolina D’Souza of Casa Grande. Over 1,800 students are enrolled in the thirteen Career and Technical Education programs offered in the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month a different program may nominate a student for this recognition program.
