Maya Galicia from Casa Grande Union High School was recognized Tuesday, November 5, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career and Technical Education Student of the Month during the district’s regular monthly school board meeting. Maya was nominated by her Construction teacher Mr. Mike Wagner who stated; “Maya can best be described as a strong-willed and thoughtful person with a passion to achieve goals set far beyond the bounds. She is a first-year construction student completing the second-year and third-year coursework. She is also taking two (2) CAC construction courses this semester. When she graduates, Maya will have her OHSA 30, NCCER Core Card, and an Industrial Carpentry Certificate from Central Arizona College.” Maya’s parents are Rafael Galicia and Ruby Ramirez. Over 1,800 students are enrolled in the fifteen different Career and Technical Education programs offered in the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month a different program may nominate a student for this recognition program.
