DECA Attends Leadership Conference

DECA 6

VGHS DECA Officers (BrittanyAnn Maruffo-President, Boston Leos-Vice President, Natalia Hernandez-Treasurer, and Christian Campos-Social Media and Secretary) and the Executive Team (Mia Mooring, Jasmine Covarrubio, Alayna Kelsey, Jesus Cruz, Thomas Ridenour, and Joseph Behrens) attended Leadership at Lost Canyon last week in beautiful Williams, Arizona. The students and their advisor, Lisa Miller, were able to network and learn from chapters across our great state. In addition, VGHS’s own state officer, Mattie Bradford, led her first group at this conference. Over 400 Arizona DECA members were actively involved in teamwork, leadership, and spirit activities. The VGHS chapter has set up a plan of work for the year and the committees have already started meeting to build some new, and strengthen our current, community partnerships. Everyone is grateful for the continued support from our district and school that allows these trips to become real-life experiences for students to build their skills as leaders now and in the future.
