HOSA & Biotech Students Attend Chapter Leadership Camp

3

Five (5) HOSA and Biotech students attended the Chapter Leadership Camp held at the beautiful Pine Summit Camp, Prescott, Arizona, with 150 students coming from different schools in Arizona. Day 1 started by welcoming all participants and advisors and instilling in their minds what makes HOSA members special is their strength, unity, and passion. Camp rules, schedules, and the first part of leadership sessions (Leader Etiquette, Communication Tactics, Team Development, and others) were also discussed that day. After dinner, color-coded teams gathered to plan for the Lip Sync Battle for an hour then Crazy Camp Time followed where students could go to the campfire, sports, camp movie, or bingo. Day 2, after breakfast, teams assembled and hiked their way to the Color Team Madness (team-building games). After lunch, a HOSA group picture took place followed by a final practice for the Lip Sync Battle in the evening after dinner. Day 3, the last day, ended fast after members cleaned up their cabins and packed up for the trip home. A closing session was held which challenged student leaders to take home what they learned to HOSA members of their respective schools. Special thanks to CTE Director Mr. Steven Sipes and Ms. Eva Steinhoff for finding the means for the student leaders to attend this camp; Principal Mr. Brian Mabb and the District Governing Board for approving such an event; and to the parents/guardians for their support towards the leadership growth of their children. AzHOSA CGUHS Chapter’s advisor is Mr. Noel Que.
