Welcome to another year at Casa Grande Union! It is my honor to introduce Kim Duncan who has been an Arizona educator since 1998, and a CG Cougar since 2016. She is certified and highly qualified in English Language Arts and Social Studies. She also holds a Master’s Degree and an Arizona certificate in Educational Administration as well as an endorsement in English as a Second Language. Her major while at the University of Nebraska-Kearney was Fine Arts and Humanities with an emphasis in English Language Arts.
Not only a dedicated teacher in the classroom, Ms. Duncan wears many hats. Some examples of her service to students and community:
PLC Liaison
ELA State Standards Work Group
NEA Teacher Leader Fellow
Junior Class and Prom
Track Coach
SIAC Member and Chair
Football Booster President
Dance and Cheer Mom
Growing up in Nebraska, she has been an avid sports fan all her life; a lifeguard, a college athlete, a high school coach, a youth league coach, athlete's mom, and director of prominent athletic organizations. She loves the outdoors where she can camp, kayak, hike, and jeep during her rare free time.
Ms. Duncan has four children; two furry, and two that walk upright. Coconut is the quintessential Golden Retriever who lives to chase her ball and swim in the pool. Taz is our special, Australian Cattle Dog/Yellow Lab who enjoys running Coconut ragged. My son and daughter have recently left the nest with their lucrative futures playing out as planned. My son is moving through the ranks of a major corporation and plays semi-pro football in the Valley while my daughter is modeling as she grows her small jewelry and art shop.
She looks forward to a productive and enriching educational adventure!
