This high school district serves the rapidly growing educational communities of Casa Grande, Arizona City, Toltec, Stanfield, and Sacaton and provides instruction in four programs at three campus sites.

Casa Grande Union High School
CGUHS proudly assert their slogan “Opening a World of Possibilities” as the school moves into a new vision of teaching and learning at a global level.

This comprehensive high school services 1867 students in grades 9-12 by offering a full compliment of academic courses as well as a myriad of social opportunities for all of students.

Academic courses range from College Board Advanced Placement to regular to Exceptional Student Services including Gifted and English Language Learner programs.  CGUHS graduates routinely earn more than $3 million dollars in scholarships.

CGUHS graduates are well rounded through rigorous involvement via academics, activities, athletics and service to the community.

A full complement of men’s and women’s athletic competition is available with competition at the 5A Arizona Interscholastic Association level. Additional career and technology experiences are afforded students through a wide array of course offerings encouraging student involvement in a multitude of 21st Century learning applications.

Desert Winds High School
Desert Winds High School is a community and family based school that provides an alternative to traditional high school. The school provides a smaller learning community to provide close and personalized instructional methods to all students.

School hours are from 3:15 – 9:00 p.m. offering an alternative to students that work during the day, prefer evening classes, or possibly have child care issues.

Student attendance days of the week are Monday – Thursday offering an alternative to the traditional 5 day week program configured with block scheduled curriculum. A few of the opportunities and advantages for Desert Winds students on Fridays include, one-on-one tutoring, home bound instruction, community based instruction for students that cannot come to the campus, and testing.

Vista Grande High School
VGHS opened in August of 2009 with 900 freshmen and sophomores. This year the junior class has been added which brings the enrollment to 1198.  In the 2011-2012 school year, the senior class will be added. VGHS is a complete comprehensive high school. It also has 6 computer labs and a community library.

VGHS competes at the 4A level.  Sports offered at VGHS are football, volleyball, cross country, golf, swimming, basketball, wrestling, soccer, softball, baseball, track, tennis and cheerleading.

The VGHS mascot is the Spartan and the school colors are black and Vegas gold. The first graduating class of students picked both the mascot and the school colors which are evident throughout the school. 

Vista Grande High School offers a full array of academic classes. The classes include Pre-AP classes as well as the Lyceum Gifted Academy with the addition of Advanced Placement classes.

The Vista Grande Spartan administration team and staff proudly proclaim “Student Success is Our Business.”

 

CGUHSD

All schools in the District have a strong technology base demonstrated by a student/computer ratio of 8:1, supported by a talented cadre of IT specialists, coupled with a large variety of software supported by a Technology Integration Coordinator.

Proudly, we note to you that all schools in the District have achieved the designation from Arizona Learns with labels of “Performing” and “Performing Plus” schools with the exception of Casa Verde which boasts the “Highly Performing” label.

The District was organized in 1919 and presently encompasses 1280 square miles. The current population for the District is estimated at 100,000.  Each school site generally reflects the ethnic makeup of 48% Hispanic, 34% Caucasian, 10% American Indian, 6% African American, and 2% Asian.
